It seemed timely to share a few updates on activities at St Peters:
Coats and Carols
Christmas festive activities were kicked off with “The Coats and Carols” service – which was well attended and a lot of fun, with our favourite carols sung on request.
Heating System
Providing all the various approvals go ahead as planned we are hoping to get the new air source heating system installed in March. Please keep your collective fingers crossed!
As a first step the old gas heaters that had been condemned have now been removed and sold for scrap – raising about £100! The new heaters will need three phase electricity, and approval has already been given to dig the trench to supply this – the track of the cable is already marked in silver dots through the lychgate.
Refreshments area
Permission has been granted to go ahead with improving the refreshments area, replacing the old freestanding units with a purpose-built bar and storage units. The bar has an attractive curve on it making it far more welcoming when entering the church. So far, the outline is just marked on the floor, but watch this space (literally).
The old carpet in the refreshment area and up the aisle has been taken up and good progress is being made removing the glue residue.
