Anne Hancox

Born in Lancashire, Anne trained as a Speech and Language Therapist at University College London. She worked in the NHS for 41 years specialising initially in Paediatric Learning Disabilities and for the last 30 years, Adult Learning Disabilities [ALD] including Dementia. Having retired from the NHS in December 2015 she continues to work with a small ALD case load, regularly lectures to students and trains care staff.

Anne and her husband Mik moved to Malvern in 1981 and began to worship at St Matthias. They have two children, Jim who is a Specialist Trauma Paramedic and Becky, who is a Mental Health Nurse. Anne has been always been actively involved in the Church, currently acting as a Churchwarden and the Disability Officer. She leads a small Mothers’ Union group and sings in the choir.

Her hobbies include gardening, walking, swimming, sewing and caravan holidays in the UK and France.
